Borderlands 2 Save Editor (Revision 155)

Get the new version.

  • Bug fixes and updates to game info (“Psycho Pack”, “Loot Chest 2”, “Poker Night at the Inventory 2” DLCs) for the current Borderlands 2 patch (1.5.0).

Download.

Known problems:

  • Eridium in-editor will show up to 99, the rest is stored in a new value that’s not handled yet.
  • Expansion playthrough number and playthrough completions are also stored in a new value that’s not handled.

    I cant load my profile into the save editor any ideas how to fix it it says to extract it with modio or equivilant and i just got a new computer and dont want to download stuff that will give me viruses again!

      I got this error. You need to close Horizon (or Modio) and “Run as Administrator”. I guess without running as administrator, it doesn’t extract the XBOX CON files. Try re-extracting with Horizon running under admin rights.

        No thats not it that must be for your computer. What it means is you need to go into the package contents and then extract the SaveGame.sav File

          Make sure the dropbox says “xbox”, Ps3, or pc when opening your savegame for the filetype. that got me for days.

    I just downloaded your program and began trying to use it. is there anything like a users manual that I can read so that I can understand the all the settings and features of the program. I would also like to know what the weapons/item component details mean so I can know what changes I want make.

    I hope this makes sense. Basically I am looking for something that explains how to use your program so I can need to learn how to use this program without asking you how to do every little thing.

      This is a complicated tool and can require a lot of time to learn what all the ins and outs of the save really mean. Basically, you shouldn’t mod anything on the RAW tab unless you are really familiar with it. As for weapons. Adding your own is not easy as all components should be correct for the gun to not be “Modded”. What I have found is if you google for websites that have codes already generated for weapons s(I have found a few that have everything from weapons to shields and relics) and then you can copy the “Code” to the clipboard. In the editor you can then “Paste Code” and it will add the item with that code. This is the easiest way to add new weapons. (Just make sure the codes are for legitimate weapons). This is as far as I have gone with it. Hope this helps.

      I prefer horizon, extract the savegame.sav from your actual saved game. the file inside the file

    Has anyone found a way to make weapons/shields with huge stats? Like the “Stock” weapons/shields you could make for Borderlands 1 or anything similar? So far I can only make items that you can legitimately find in-game. Any information would be much appreciated.

      Due to Borderlands 2 Sanity Checks every time you load a game or change character It removes any Illegal or over powered Weapons or Items from the Inventory (Equipped or in Backpack)!
      But i have discovered this does not apply to the bank!!! So by making a new custom weapon or Item in the Bank with Rick’s Editor and Saving.
      When you re-load character you will find it in the bank and it will be usable as long as none of the lines in the editor have red boxes yellow exclamation marks will work now!
      You MUST put it back in Bank before exiting game or you will LOSE IT next time you Load that Character!

    Thanks Rick. Works great and makes Borderlands 2 more enjoyable for my peeps and me.
    We don’t use it to mod weapons, just for the one thing that weapons and mods should do already, level up to our level as we go.

    hey everyone,
    i’ve had this problem for a really long time and no one has been able to tell me how to fix it. when i use the save editor to duplicate saves, for example change my zero into axton, i create a separate save and everything works out fine. however, when i’m in the main menu and i switch between the two characters, the image of the character doesn’t change, and stays as whoever i pick first. so basically when i click on zero first and then select axton instead, the image of zero is still on there. does anyone know how to fix this?

        thank you for responding to this post. i really appreciate your save editor first of all, it’s fantastic. i tried what you said, by duplicating a character and setting the save slot number to 2 while saving it as save0002. it still has that image glitch. am i doing something wrong? do i have to change something in the raw tab?

          did some more troubleshooting, this time i selected zero in the game, changed all his skins to the default ones and respec’d him so he has no skills, the exited the game. opened up his save, changed his class to siren and changed her save slot to 2, changed her playerclass value to siren in the raw tab, as well as the savegameid in the raw tab to 2. saved the file by manually typing save0002 and opened the game. when i selected her she still had zero’s image.

            Its easy as 1, 2, 3 – All you have to do is when you load the new character
            (must have its skill points reset and the correct save Slot Number)
            for the first time:

            (1) – Go to the nearest new you station and select a standard head and skin for that character!
            (2) – Then exit and save game!
            (3) – When you re-load that character the menu problem is gone! You can choose any skin now!
            after you have done that you can use Rick’s editor again!

            That Worked for me. (I am using a PC to play Game)

    hello PK,

    i tried doing what you said and i don’t think that gets rid of the image glitch. the duplicated saves just take after the image of the last person i select in the game, but when i choose between them in the main menu, they all have the same exact image. if anyone knows how to fix this, please post here! would very much appreciate it. thanks!

      Roland after further testing I discovered that the menu problem only appears when you change from original character to respeced duplicate.
      Yet it works perfectly when you change to respeced duplicate after any other character even another respeced duplicate as long as the duplicate is from a different character!!! Bloody weird. Sorry for the bum steer. At least if you save and exit then reload and continue you will see your character in the Inventory Menu instead of a blank space to the right of the Inventory. Not a Game breaker but Bloody annoying anyway. If I figure it out I’ll let you know!!

          Your Welcome, I never noticed the bug when I tested my respeced Maya duplicated from my First Character Zero (cause he was the only one with all the achievements) I had started another New character and was playing with that. So when I loaded the respeced Maya I did not notice any problems. After I read your reply I reloaded Maya no menu problem… But when I decided to go from Duplicate to original Instead of Zero I Saw Maya and the only way to clear it was to actually load another character then save and exit and then reload and continue. Weird!

            yeah, i agree it’s pretty weird. i’ve been trying to figure out how to get it fixed for a while now. I don’t know if Rick has tried troubleshooting it to see what the problem is, but if anyone knows please post here!

            Guys…The way we do this seems easier. Just create the character you want, give it a level and any changes you need, i.e. credits, save then load another character with the weapons you want, copy and paste them into your new character. You have to save the new character each time you copy and paste but this way you get what you want and there is never a bug.

      That exception implies new content that the editor doesn’t know about, and playing as Krieg means you have a version of the game which is not released yet, both things I can’t do anything about.

      I get this error when playing psycho if there are any class mods in assigned slot or in backpack. Have to put them in safe, save and then am able to load save file.

    i’m running xp and i’m using horizon so i can extract the file just fine and then mod it in the revision but when i save the new file to my desktop horizon will not let me put the file back on horizon it come up with

    For a while it keeps on saying Gibbed.Borderlands2.SaveEdit has stopped working..
    I have the files in a separate folder, have .NET 4+ (just installed 4.5)… NOTHING

    It started when i decided to try out IE 10, ever since then, Firefox will not work unless you turn off the accelerator (this is when your save editor stopped working)
    I got IE 10 off as soon as it fucked everything and then completely uninstall IE.. STILL NOTHING!!!

    Do I need to go to REGEDIT or something???????????

      Yo it’s because the number holder can’t go above 2 digits 120 is there but you have to allocate points till below 120 to see the 99 you get me its there you just can’t see the one.

    Okay so I have the latest borderlands update. (1.5.0) and I have my savefile which was made in the latest update on my USB, I take it into horizon, back it up and then extract actual save, when I go to open it in the editor I keep getting the same error: failed to load save, invalid or unsupported version, I would like to say however that I do not have the UHVM DLC so that may be the problem.

      Are you changing the file type that you’re trying to load. When picking the file to load you have to specifiy if it is xbox, PC, or PS3

    I am using this for the PS3 and it seems like adding skill points does not take for me. I have no problems opening the save, modifying it in Gibbed, but when I load it back on the PS3, the skill point changes are not there.

      Ah, ok. It seems the skill points are tied to your level. I was trying to just add a few points which didn’t take. But once I increased my level a bit they showed up.

    Just for the record, this little tool is NOT compatible with the application named Radeon Pro. You should close it first before running the Save Editor or it will not open.
