carnage barrel is the most useful item if u want to increase tha damage cuz the carnage barrel multiplies the dmg by 5

i believe that putting it in the accessory or barrel part makes it shoot rockets, which most of the time end up doing 0 damage.

I have a bizzare issue that you may be able to help with.
On playthrough 2 I bought a grenade for the “got grenades?” mission but then sold it back to the store. Now the “Grenade Purchased” box is unticked and I can’t continue with missions no matter how many grenades i buy!
Any Idea on how to edit my save file to skip this bit???
Update: I used a hex editor to change a 0 to a 1 just after the tag STAT_PLAYER_GRENADE_PURCHASED and now the game does show that I’ve bought a grenade…. but it hasn’t told me to TURN IN, so I’m still stuck.
I’d even be happy just to restart at playthrough 2 with all my weapons and stuf…
well, sorry to say guys, u gotta make a new character and restart the whole game
how about starting a new charachter that can access playthrough 2 and then just copy my stats across? any ideas?

Well Anon hasn’t replied yet, but I have an idea. I’m going to start a new charachter and get him upto where I am now. then save the file. then I’ll progress further and save the file again. Hopefully I’ll have some data to compare it to that will help me get past this bit…

Umm… you can’t sell grenades back to the store…
You’re supposed to buy GRENADES not a Grenade Mod.
The problem is you’re an idiot, The quest was to buy a grenade, not a grenade mod. You need to throw a grenade assuming you are full and then to buy more grenades from the ammo vendor. That is how you finish the quest.

I did however have fun discoverering all the wierd stuff you can play around with in the save game mod and plan on having some fun once I finish playthrough 2.

it is not possible to use 4 weapons if you did not upgrade slots available….
but I discover how to change slots available for weapons modifying save data file!
Instructions:
1- Open your save game in Gibbed’s Borderlands Save Editor
2- Open your save game in an hex editor program (i.e. hexworkshop)
3- go to the weapons tab, select and copy to the clipboard the text in the first line on the 3 column (GRADE). i.e.: gd_itemgrades.Weapons.ItemGrade_Weapon_CombatShotgun
4- go to hexeditor and find the text copied (from the beginning of the file)
5- put your cursor on the first letter of text you found and go back 12 characters, you will find the 02 hex code
6- change it to 04
7- do the steps 3 to 5 again but select text in the 3 column of the ITEMS tab
8- change it to 03
Close Gibbed’s Borderlands Save Editor
save you file in the HexEditor
ok, now you open 4 slots for weapons and 3 slots for items

there is a section in the advanced tab to set the amount of weapon slot.
I’ve changed the Quality, switched spots, and saved, but the gun’s level requirement didn’t change at all! I now have like 5 non-level-required guns with a quality of 5. Help please?

I made a pistol that has title of “gd_weap_repeater_pistol.Title.TitleU_Retail_TheDove”
which should make the gun not to use ammo when it is fired.
But, ingame, the pistol still uses ammo when it is fired.
This happened with many of my weapons… The title (The special effect in red script in the weapon description) often didn’t work.
Is there part that i have to match to make the title work? like materials?
Please tell me what should i do.

Yes, you need gd_weap_repeater_pistol.UniqueParts.TheDove_barrel4. This will stop it from using ammo.

Amazingly enough what you “want” has nothing to do with how the game works. You can not “want” to use the barrel all day long, but it won’t make the title work the way you “want” it to. So it is not happening for no reason, it is happening exactly as intended, and there is a solution, which you have already been given:
The Dove Title has precisely one affect on the weapon, it adds “Sometimes, I Forget To Reload” in red text to the description. That is it. It does NOTHING else.
If you want to never have to reload or use ammo then you must use gd_weap_repeater_pistol.UniqueParts.TheDove_barrel4 somewhere else on the weapon. PERIOD. There is no other option at all. If you don’t have room for it, then you can’t use it, but if it is important enough to you then you will find something you can remove so you can use it.
Also keep in mind that you only have to add the Dove barrel. You don’t need to add the title to make the barrel work. So this means that you can somewhat make up for whatever you are giving up by putting in the title of your choice that does have an affect on the weapons stats.

no you cant put the part in a name slot

negative, titles do have effects, but often small ones.
Correct, if you notice, the particular types, title, barrel, scope, etc. will say that in the description, they generally only fit in their catagory, so don’t try and put a barrel in the title, or a scope in the stock, etc.
although we can put carnage barrels in most slots that arent filled to increase damage still 😀

Nope, I’ve been asking the same thing. Seems like the only thing to do is to use the title to bump up a x2-x3 shock to x4.
Have you tried putting an Eridian Lightning barrel in there? I have no idea if that will work, but I do know for a fact that the Eridian Lightning hits with lightning every time… I may test this myself in a few minutes when I finish reading mail and stuff…
you could try changing the material type to Maliwan, but you’ll prolly lose over all dmg.

I was just using your editor to modify some weapons i have in my Roland, but when i save the changes and then reopen the save file, my changes are gone. They do not appear ingame either.

click outside of the field you are editing before you save.
make sure you are saving it ot the right one, and the set file in the editor is right also.
Huh. Was just tweaking a Twisted Savior weapon – found @ http://www.zerosubstance.net/borderlands/viewweapon.php?id=53 -. Now it’s got yellow rarity text colour but it’s above the “pearlescent” whites (Thanatos etc) that go above everything else on the inventory screen. Not sure what to make of that.
I replaced the Chimera accessory with gd_weap_patrol_smg.acc.acc2_Vector because I didn’t want to deal with erratic elemental damage, and in the process upped the Fire Rate to 40.9 and changed the text color to a new rarity.
What does the vector accessory do? Also, I’ve read that levels can keep on glitching, and there are even guns that have such a high rarity value as to spill over into the items section, obtaining a red color (used for health vials). Vector accessory – full title gd_weap_patrol_smg.acc2_Vector – gives +31% fire rate, +35% reload rate.
And red items I’ve heard of, but never had read that forum post. This might make the weapon a step above that (into the cash/bobblehead realm). Could always test to see if it follows the logic of cash/health drops by cloning it and leaving it on the ground; if it follows similar rules and disappears like money/health/ammo (DROP_Shortlived) it’s got to be how the game gave it its rarity.

I’ve done this once by accident, the gun’s crosshair didn’t open up when i fired it for few seconds.

Uh, I believe it needs to be high accuracy with a large recoil reduction. Generally my Hyperion guns will act this way. It seems to only take effect after you switch to a different weapon and switch back, it at all.

To me, it seems like using the masher accessory killed your damage. The masher bullets give a LARGE reduction in damage to compensate for the 7 shots.
Use the Chimera accessory instead.
Or check your weapon for a Level Requirement. If it’s above quality 0 but doesn’t have a requirement, then it’s broken. Change your Manufacturer to a “compatible” one. Not the Materials, that one’s fine.

The patton grip seems to give a boost in damage.
Well, one of my friends gave me this. It’s not an equippable item, but you use it like you would a health kit. It adds to your maximum health and maximum shield. It isn’t permanent, so once you leave the game your stats go back. Use at your own risk. I’ve posted 3 versions: RoadCrewWorker’s XML, JackQW’s row copy, and a Willowtree version (in that order). Still trying to figure out what makes it work.

The body1_balanced part adds +25% Recharge Rate and +20% Capacity… hang on… this looks like… HEY This IS strange… It looks exactly like a shield, only it has a different grade and type. I’m guessing they made a shield act as a health hit… I will go grab a health kit and do some more comparisons (I don’t have any on me XP)

I was able to stack my shield and health up to ~10 mils using a similar method (item in inventory). It got boring fast though. And people would notice when I entered duels or arenas, since no weapon could kill me in 1 hit.

yea i changed the parts to my shield which is maxxed everything, and all you have to do it mass click spam after you enter game, you should have over 50k in a few seconds.
Yep, click spam works too. But to get 10 mils youll need around 5000 clicks, every time you enter a game.
I dont have to click and be able to keep the boost between games.
The downside is sometime the weapons and accessory slots will glitch, youll need to re-equip everything. Also filling the massive health bar might be a problem.
Where should i install this program to edit my existing saves? I seem not to get it working so that i could see the gear etc of any of my characters…
install anywhere you like to, then load the save file. When you load save file, it will directly lead you to the where the save files are, but if it doesnt, go to your doucment, my games, borderlands, save files, there you see save files load them to editor and you r set to go.

I put everything in and got the shields protection of 1439+ but no bonuses, such as regeneration or health boost..
they dont show on the shield but the effect is there

What save tab are you referring to? I looked in the save editor and there is no save “tab”, just a save button you can click on to save your stats after modifying them. There is nothing to uncheck or to check for that matter. Thanks.

I need a crazy good corrosive shotty, I’m lvl 45 and have beat the game 1 1/2 times. Can anyone help me out?
get any shotgun, add a x4 corrosive acc, then put a carnage barrel in the action slot.
should have a lot of damage no matter what gun you use.

hey guys, im having a huge problem with this hack. i was trying to make weapons with it. and then i started using willoww tree which is much easier. but i cannot delete this hack anymore! and its stuck on my charactors and glitching them up.i made this pistol that has a scope and does 6000 damage and fucking revision 10 deleted it. please help me how do i get rid of it or atleast take it off my side because its made 2 charactors lol and i cant delete the other one.
delete the three files that you downloaded for it.
then in game just sell whatever weapon and delete whatever characters..
Seriously? This “hack” only saves over your save files. If you used it wrong and corrupted your save files than that can’t be fixed. If the program isn’t running, then there is nothing going on from the “hack”. In fact, I wouldn’t call this a hack at all, simply a save file modifier.

Do you have to be a certain length into the game for this to work? I’m right at the beginning, and I keep getting a “Unsupported Save File” when I load the save using your editor. (PS3)
