  1. Max says:

Is there anything that can be done about the backpack and skill point sanity checking with an upcoming update?

  2. Noob says:

If I use this game editor to change, for example, my charecter lvl to 100 and my conference call to 100, i can’t use them, max hp stay’s the same..
Think it does’nt work, i hace the v1.2.2 version, is that the reason?

  3. Zagan says:

    Hey,
I was wondering if it would be possible to make like a “Favorite Items” tab? You know, so you could store codes to your favorite hacked items and add them to
your bank in case like you didn’t get back there to put them in the bank. Or maybe you might want to add them to a new save and instead of pasting in a bunch
of codes all over again they would allready be saved in the editor via a small .txt or .ini file or something.

You would probably want to have some kind of label and if you got really ambitious you could even assosiate a screenshot window with the stats card or something.
Not sure if that second part is feasable or not, but it was just an idea.

  4. Noob says:

    Hi again,

Everything is working great so far but I really cant use lvl 50+ weapons.
My lvl is 100 and my weapon lvl is 100, also tried lvl 80, 70, 60 ect. weapons but i really can’t equip them..

Everything else works fine, I can even use the black hybrid guns equipped from the bank but I just can’t use a lvl 100 gun on my lvl 100 Siren.
Can somebody please help me? Please?

    Thanks in advance! Grtz

  5. JeepinGeo says:

Failed to load save: invalid SHA1 hash

I have an idea what’s causing this error. Somewhere in the process of file transfer, the save file is getting padded with zeroes so the file size matches the size on disk (check the file properties). If you have the SHA1 error, open the save file in a hex editor (I use HxD HexEditor) and check the end of file. There should be 2 and only 2 bytes with zeroes following the data, if you see more delete all the extra bytes of zeroes.

I tested this by adding just a single extra byte of zeroes and got the SHA1 error, removed the byte and the file opened OK again.

  6. Craig says:

I have leveled up my character to 150, and it loads up with level 150 fine, but my level 100 guns and other items won’t work- they are red as if I am not level 100, I have to make them level 50 to work, I suspect that 2K have put something into the latest update to stop the use of high level items? Oooh I hope I’m wrong, please can someone advise me maybe I’ve missed something….

  7. Legitprod says:

    hello.
    a few question
1:- when i try to open the newest version (133) it says (….) has stopped working. any help?
2:- can you add the ability to mod badassrank???
3:- the ability to mod backpack storage??
4:-if 2+3 are in the version how do i work it?
    THANKS!
    if you respond………….

  8. Legitprod says:

    HELLO ME AGAIN
i found a solution to any crashes
if the file is downloaded in a 7zip or winrar file, you need to transfer the iteams to a folder.
    i feel dumb 😛

    • Lukash says:

      Hey Legitprod,
Can you explain me how “transfer” the items to folder can fix the crashes? Whenever I launching the editor it immediately crashes. This is very strange because program worked very well before, and few days ago I can’t launch it because of “Insta-crash”
      Regards

      • Legitprod says:

        HEY
sorry for a late reply but all you need to do is get 7zip (its 100% free no viruses) an open the download with that
it will have all of the same files and you can just transfer them to a folder
        hope i helped!

        • Lukash says:

          Hi,
It didn’t worked at all, but thanks anyway.
I think something is wrong with my PC than with editor. But I can’t understand why it worked before, and now I have Insta-crash at launch of this save editor.
          Regards
          Lukash

  9. nervocalm says:

    Hello Guys!
Anyone has found a workaround to unlock all the skills trees? I have a level 36 commando with all trees unlocked but now that I finished my first playtrough I can’t replicate my character to other clasess… I can’t givethem more than 45 or 46 skills points… The thing I don’t understand is how my commando character could have all the trees unlocked while is impossible to do it again…
    Any ideas?

    • Max says:

Make a character with the 45 skill points then assign them on your skill tree. Set your character level to something low near the start of the game (say level 5) using the save editor and sync your XP. Restart the game. Killing the first enemy you see should cause you to level up (to level 6) and give you one additional skill point. Assign that to your skill tree. Quit the game and use the save editor to reset your level back to previous (level 5) and resync the XP. Restart the game and level up again. It’s a massive pain in the ass and I hope someone comes up with something better but for right now this is the best I have.

      • Nervocalm says:

Thanks Max for your answer! Yeah, you are right… It’s a painfull way but at least is a way! I have tried something similar, leveling my character up and down but using the editor only… It’s a pity. I regret I hadn’t edited the other clases when I had the chance.
I hope someone come up with something less annoying and surprise us both!
In the meantime I’m going to try your tecnique! 😉
        Thank’s again mate!

        • Random says:

I use the memory editing program called “ArtMoney” for that. I get several unspent talent points to begin with, then I do an exact value search for whatever number of points it is, (say perhaps 10). Then I spend two points, and do a filter search for exact value of 8. Spend 1 point and search for 7, etc. until I am able to find the address where the talent points is saved, then I can change the number of talent points to however many I want. This process also works for gold keys.. Each time you get a gold key, save it until you get enough to do this search. If you aren’t able to find the address before you run out of keys, just alt+F4 out of the game so it can’t save your lost keys, and try again later when you have more keys. Obviously save your game before attempting this so no other data is lost.

  10. DeepPurple23 says:

Since gearbox has made it so “easy” to get a Cobra I decided to “build” one. The wiki lists out the “special” parts needed. But when I enter any of them into the editor, I get a red box and it won’t create the gun. Anyone with ideas? I’m on a PC by the way.

    • MPX says:

The Cobra will need to have SetID: 3 but you currently can’t edit that value. So start with another DLC2 gun like the Kitten and then change to the Cobra definition and parts.

      • DeepPurple23 says:

Thanks MPX. It worked like a charm. I now have a Cobra, and the last 2000 burners I killed were all just a waste of bullets. 🙂

  11. Delia says:

Why wont the waypoints show on the map , i can only see the ones i already unlocked through normal gameplay , burt when i edit it in the editor with all of them checked nothing shows ingame on the map.

  12. Delia says:

is there any other way i could unlock waypoints ? or a way to change the save game to different playthrough …

  13. killuinurface says:

i was wondering if i sent u a fully decrypted ps3 save file if you would be able to make your program work with it just a thought thanks

    • Rick says:

      Decrypted by what tool?

      • ColonelMustardsGas says:

from what i can tell the game genie stores a decrypted version of the .sav locally in the temp folder. i could be missing something but when you open this file with a hex editor it looks decrypted … for whatever reason though you still get the invalid SHA1 hash error message when you try to load it with the save editor.

        thoughts?

  14. Ikazuchi Ookami says:

i have this problem i’m using Modio to extract my game save and when i use your program to open the save it keeps giving me error failed to loud save cannot load Xbox 360 con file extract using modio or equilvelnt

    • Rick says:

Then you didn’t do it correctly.

      • Legitprod says:

hey after you extract the save.0000 you open that file using modio and thats the savegame you open using gibbed

        • Ikazuchi Ookami says:

what i did is i open modio use explore device whent throu the steps to find my game save extrac it, then used gibbed to open the gamesave and i get the error messige

  15. Delia says:

Is there a way you could ad Gold key editing ? 😛

  16. Datagear says:

Looks like the editor does not detect the proper prefixes of certain items yet. I tried making a legendary shield, but instead I got one with a default name, and the list of prefixes is empty.

I’m guessing a list would have to be made.

  17. Don says:

I saw some people recommending other programs or tricks for giving yourself more skill points. You don’t have to do that, you can simply give yourself the skills manually through the raw editor, just go to skill data and change the grade of anything you want up to 5 (beware of the one rank skills), save, go back to the game and you should have the skills.

I didn’t use it much but as far as i’m aware, it works fine with resetting, you will be given the points back just as normal.

    • Don says:

Also note that the menu might show the skill as locked but that doesn’t mean you don’t have it, the reset station counts it and the skill itself will function normally.

  18. _5am1_ says:

im getting the invalid SHA1 hash error when i try to mod my saves. how can i get them to work? (im using ps3) please answer me as fast as you can

    • Rick says:

You need to decrypt your save file.

      • _5am1_ says:

        how?

        • Crashedeclipse says:

I had the same issue however trying to get someone to actually help you on this forum you’d have a better chance at winning the lottery lol google bruteforce save it’s a program that decrypts ps3 files and also download revision 138 of the save editor. Load up bruteforce and use it to open up your save file there’s gonna be a box in the lower left of the program click the one that says .sav and highlight it then click the decrypt button and then go to the save editor and open the save file up be sure to change it to ps3 in the box to open it. Then edit whatever you want and click save before you close the editor then go back to bruteforce click the .sav to highlight it then click encrypt and put the file back on your flash drive and your good to go.

  19. Killuinurface says:

Sry for taking so long to reply gotta full time job that leaves me with little time but I don’t use game genie there is a way to gt ur save file off ur ps3 and it decrypted with the use of game genie but it still gives me sha1 hash error

  20. ZalgoSA says:

I noticed with this all the Mechromancer skin/head items are not able to be added in. Any planned fix to this or am I a blind individual and missed the download for the latest build?

  21. DeepPurple23 says:

I’m on a PC, and I’ve noticed that when I add Torgue tokens they show up, but I can’t purchase the 613 item of the day. I usually can purchase other stuff, but I haven’t figured out yet if that is because I have “real” tokens for that level or if something else is going on. Anyone with ideas?

  22. Axman says:

Possible to somewhere put, say, on the General screen, what version the software is? Or is it there somewhere already?

    Ax

  23. Linus says:

Is there a way to reset a quest DO NO HARM using this save editor ? This quest is bugged and now I stuck.

  24. HackHelp says:

don’t know what happened but it’s stopped loading XBOX 360 saves and now popping a window with can’t load XBOX 360 con files.

    • HackHelp says:

I think the save is only working as a PC save as well. The file size is way off and even if I try to save it as a XBOX 360 save it still is only a PC save.

  25. allanc says:

I sorely desire to increase the backpack inventory slots and don’t see a max listed in the Misc tab.
    How do I increase this?
Should I just start duplicating weapons?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Good job by the way on the editor. I know its not as polished yet as the original, but it rocks.

  26. PS3 Hacker says:

Why cant i open my PS3 files?
And how can i open them?

  27. Joker says:

I had a question that I can’t seem to find an answer for. I downloaded the mod and made everything where I wanted it on the editor, but when I go into the game, it will only give me 50 skill points for my skill tree. I can type in 51 or 99 or 99999 into the skill points section in the save editor and the game won’t let me go over 50 for some reason. And then there is the fact that, though I made my character level 150, the game won’t let me use modded weapons that are level 127. Finally, there is the fact that the game will only let me have 99 eridium at a time. This is an easy fix, as I can just reopen the editor and edit more in, but it still leaves me with the other two problems. If anyone can help me with these, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’ve tried watching the tutorials and eitehr I’m missing something or I’m just terribly dull. Please give me some assistance if you can.

    Thanks,
    Joker

    • Lapdragon says:

All of these things are being sanity-checked by the game when you load a save file. You can’t have a character over level 50, which means you can’t use a gun that’s been modded to be lvl 127. Eridium, skillpoints, and inventory slots are all locked to their maximum values.

  28. Ocular Stratus says:

The program won’t read the .sav even though it was extracted from modio. Any suggestions?

    • HackHelp says:

Having the same problem here. Something about the CON file right?

      • Dunder Mifflinz says:

I had the same problem for a while… You have to extract the savegame file out of the sav0001 or whatever you’re up to, do whatever you need to do and then replace the savegame with the modded one

  29. Ocular Stratus says:

Also, what is the newest version of this program and where can I download it?

  30. Crashedeclipse says:

Hey can someone actually help and answer how to get past the whole Invalid sha1 hash error on ps3 so far the only answers are not helpful like you need to decrypt your save well a lot of us don’t know how to do that what program do you use I only use my laptop to download music and movies I don’t know much else so is there an update coming that will support the ps3 or can someone be nice and actually explain in detail on how to get past this issue thanks hopefully you can help out Rick.

  31. Allan says:

Using cheat engine 6.2 have extracted a gamegenie decrypted ps3 save file, but guessing it’s missing some header information (security, profile, etc..) because it’s still popping sha1 error. Obviously using this method a new file is useless anyways, but perhaps having an option to output the raw decrypted data from the Save Editor would be useful for PS3 users like myself who can see the raw values but can’t change the file size or use a manufactured file. Have managed to locate the off sets for most everything except the contents of the backpack, and don’t have enough understanding of c# to figure out what your source code is doing with the weapon values :/ link to decrypted file below, somewhat premodded with gamegenie.

  32. Alexander says:

I’ve been trying to use the editor.

My version of Borderlands 2 (+ LAN) is a pirated one from NoSteam updated with the latest patch (1.2.2) here :

I am using the save editor Revision 138 found here : http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/borderlands-save-editor-revision-138.798767/

It seems that most of the functions of the save editor are messed up. Skill points and Eridium can’t be added. I can no longer increase my level or experience. The simply don’t save. When I press the “sync” buttons they just revert to their original values.

Any idea what’s going on? Will any new revision fixing the issues be released soon?

Thank you very much for writing these programs for us!

    – Alex

  33. PostApoc says:

I’ve just finished playthrough 1. I want to skip TVHM (PT2) and go straight to PT2.5 so that I don’t have to worry about mission and enemy scaling no matter where I go in main game or DLCs. Is there a way to fully unlock PT2.5 in Gibbed?

For now I’ve upgraded my character to level 50, and I’ve adjusted all of the regions levels to 50. That has made all of the enemies and side missions scale to level 50, but not the story missions. That’s basically good enough, but was curious if there was a simple setting to unlock 2.5 fully.

I see a “playthrough completed” or similar, but I’m not sure what it does.

    Thanks.

  35. Alexander says:

My last comment seems to have been moderated out.

I’m going to guess you don’t support pirated versions of the game?

Please understand, I live in China as an expat and have no foreign CC, so I can’t purchase the game legitimately.

If this is just a mistake then I’ll repost my original post.

    • Rick says:

Sorry, I don’t support pirated copies of the game. Your issues with the editor are unlikely to be tied to that however.

  36. Childokeford says:

Hey I Get A Couple Of Things Wrong When I Do What My Mate Does It Says” Failed to load save” And A Bit More After But It Wont Work, Any Solutions Or Tips, Comment If This Happens To You To .

  37. shane says:

im am useing a 8gb flash drive to save a lvl 50 character on (for xbox360) and once it saves i take it out plug it into the computer and try to open the save file but i keep getting the error message-failed to load save, not enough data for save header…..im useing gibbed’s borderlands 2 save editor not sure which version has anyone run into this type of problem and if so how do i fix it if you cant reach me on here then my GT. is razgriez69 xbox thankyou for your time

    • shane says:

forgot to mention that my flash drive is formatted to my xbox so now im going to try to format it to my pc and see if that makes any change

  38. Crashedeclipse says:

I guess my last comment got ignored is there a new revision of the save editor coming out that will actually support the PS3 or is there an easy way to get this version of the editor to work with PS3 save files?

  39. Crashedeclipse says:

Oh sweet well hopefully you release it soon because that would be awesome.

  40. PsychoZer0 says:

New update came out so newer saves are saying reencode mismatch, older saves still work

  41. PsychoZer0 says:

Its cool, just thought i’d give a heads up. Btw, is there any fix on the Mechros items in the editor yet, like her class mods?

  42. hindsy says:

i keep getting this message evertime i try to open SaveGame.sav

failed to load save: reencode mismatch

    how do i fix this?

  43. ImpactSLTD says:

The reencode mismatch error on Xbox360 appears to be limited to my toons set above Lvl 50. It looks like they are hard setting the max level for the game regardless of skill points… Unfortunately, now I can’t edit my badass siren to bring her gear back down to 50.

    • ImpactSLTD says:

Edit.. Max level regardless of XP… not skills.. sorry still early here.

    • ImpactSLTD says:

Sorry, I misspoke earlier.. the reencode mismatch doesn’t happen until the first save of the character within the game — level doesn’t matter — which is basically immediately after starting. SO… if you have a toon you haven’t loaded yet, don’t scrap the old .sav file. They will still work. You will just lose any progress you made in the levels/challenges.

  44. geetee says:

I get a “reencode mismatch error” when I try to load a character that I’ve played with after the 1.3.0 patch in Revision 138

    • stephano says:

yea happened the same to me

      • dyril says:

same here for ps3 strangely it worked earlier now just gives the error “reencode mismatch error”

        • MechroMan says:

Ya did same thing for xbox. It sucks not being able to make my own weapons anymore. Hopefully the editor gets updated very soon to be able to work with the new BL2 update.

  45. G says:

I was just wondering if there was a way, with the newest save editor or even the old one, to unlock all skins and heads in the game for each character. I know how to change them in the editor for one of each but once in the game if I change it disappears. I figured its in the “raw” section of the editor under “Applied Customizations” but I am unsure of how to edit this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  46. G says:

Also, will I be able to modify my bad ass rank? and inventory capacity? if these features are in it can you tell me how?
    thanks!!

  47. Shade says:

well it looks like after the new DLC’s it needs an update 🙁

  48. Tony says:

    hey rick
looks like you’re getting there with ps3 saves. excellent! do you have a link for latest revision? i keep having to register with sites i google ))) pain in the ass

  49. khairun says:

im getting a ‘fail to load save reencode mismatch’after playing a character and opening the file in gibbed editor.why?

    looks like they’ve patched bl2 again…
