Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Save Editor (Revision 7)

Get the new version.

  • Initial release (hotfix).
  • As this is the first release, damage to your save files could occur. Don’t use it if you don’t want to take that risk.
  • Fast Travel tab is (obviously) missing, due to changes in how that’s handled. It may return in the future.
  • I have no idea if console (PS3, 360) formats/compression was changed at all, so that may be broken.
  • Fixed some reencode issues, if you encounter more, please comment this post.
  • If you are getting a reencode issue with revision 7, try loading the save in-game, and going to Options, Gameplay and turning Vehicle Steering to traditional.
Hopefully that resolves the issue. This problem will be fixed in the next release.

Download.

If you encounter any problems (crashes, etc), feel free to comment this post.

  2. presec says:

can somebody pls explain why i cant load up my ps3 save, its gives me this error? failed to load save invalid SHA1 hash

    • Gavin says:

you need a program like bruteforce to decrypt the file

    • BarkBarkWoof says:

Or you forgot to change the file type to PS3 on the bottom right corner of the open file window.

    • Dan says:

I am having the same issue. I am using Bruteforce to decrypt the file and then trying to load in to the editor. Same as I did with BL2. I get the “invalid SHA1 Hash” error. Funny thing though. If I decrypt a BL2 character it brings it in fine with the exception of wiping out the Backpack. Money is converted and stats / levels are all there. So makes me even more curious as o why I get the SHA1 error with a Pre Sequel and a BL2 loads fine. My method is the same.

  3. Devvvin says:

So I’ve searched through as many forums as my eyes can handle before the strain causes them to collapse in search of a solution for this but haven’t found it yet.

I have it on pc, using windows 10 (tried using my 8.1 partition and same result), but basically regardless of what I do with the editor, the save game always always always shows up as corrupt in game. I have net4 installed, tried administrator, tried compatibility, but am out of ideas.

Anyone else have this problem or know what I can do?
Btw, dunno if this makes a difference, but the profile editor does not have the same problem.

    • BarkBarkWoof says:

Make sure that the two programs, especially Bruteforce, were not partially stripped by your virus protection. You may have to turn on Silent Mode. I have had compete success on PS3 with Windows 7 BUT Bruteforce got zapped and I had to put it on my whitelist.

      • Devvvin says:

Dumb question, is brute force necessary for pc save files? I was under the impression that was just for the ps3 to decrypt em.

And I don’t use virus protection, just malwarebytes and windows malicious software. Only use antivirus after I get infected, otherwise I just do manual checks. No infections in 5 months ๐Ÿ™‚

        Thanks for the response btw

        • Devvvin says:

          Resolved:
Turns out windows 10 isn’t compatible with this yet. Tried all compatibility options, admin, pc fully updated, etc. Requires 8.1 or lower apparently. Not a huge deal and unsurprising for an OS operating system. Luckily, if you edit in a compatible OS then you can just replace your save with that and it works. Surprisingly, the profile editor does not suffer from this problem

          • russki says:

Thanks for this! I was tearing out my hair trying to figure out wtf was going on.. Will use my 8.1 machine to edit until it works with W10! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. rakrimes says:

Was wondering if there is anyway to get this to work on linux it does not work with wine.

  5. rakrimes says:

Anyway to get it to work on linux since it will not work with wine

  6. smitty says:

is ther a way to mess with the odds for the slot machine. xbox 360?

    • zappiersauce says:

bro – with gibbed you can bring in all guns, shields, grenades, class mods, oz kits and manipulate the levels and abilities, you can bring in unlimited moonstone, $99,999,999 in money, all skins and heads, plus so much more….. why do you want to win on the slots ??

  7. BarkBarkWoof says:

I’m missing some areas for the trophies and am just frustrated.

Is there somewhere that the WorldDiscoveryList is complete so I can compare and find what I’m missing. It’s crazy all the maps look complete and I did the hidden bosses and Excalibastard.

  8. A says:

After I have selected the “open” button, it says something is an incorrect version. But I don’t know what version of what it is talking about.

This is what it says “Fail to load save: invalid or unsupported version”

    Both are up to date.

    An answer ASAP, please.

    • zappiersauce says:

after selecting “open” the program defaults to read a pc version of the file, you have to use the drop down menu in the bottom right to choose your console version of the sav. file (360 or PS3 )

  10. cj says:

so im trying to download the save editor for pre sequel and it keeps telling me the file format is not supported when I try to open it in my mZIP any suggestions? I had the same problem with the new version of the borderlands 2 editor (237) but downloaded the previous version of it and had no problems.

    • Ethan says:

what you have to do is right-click on the one that says “application” (you will see that on the right of the program) and click “extract” then a new file should open up with a jack face on it. There you go, you now have gibbed save editor

  11. cj says:

forgot to mention im running windows 8 on my pc but im trying to use it for my ps3. are there any links to r6 or is the editor just for pc at this time

  12. xenomage says:

i cant get it to work, keep getting invalid SHA1 hash…yes ive done everything people said…still dont work.

    • Analyst2 says:

FYI, I have the exact problem, Bruteforce 1.5.1, Windows 7, playing on a PS3

I’m aware of the routine about selecting ps3 settings as I used this with success on Borderlands 2. Hopefully an error to be worked out, meanwhile, if someone finds a solution let us know.

      • Chris says:

im getting the same error everytime i open it in gibbed. also have a ps3. hoppefully there will be a fix soon

  13. Sleezymartinez says:

I got this to work with WINE, first set it to windows 7. For shits and giggles i installed Directx, vbrun6, vcrun 2005 2008 and 2010, and vcrun6. I then installed dotnet 4.0 first, then dotnet30sp1, good luck!

  14. Sleezymartinez says:

  15. JC says:

I don’t know if anyone else is haveing this problem but i can’t even open it. I click it normally and on admin it loads for like 2 seconds and nothing shows up

  16. niebaum says:

There’s something that needs to be fixed for the next version, the editor doesn’t recognize the Haymaker shield, which is earned when you complete the 5 rounds in the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit (Abandoned Training Facility), everytime that I have this shield on my inventory and open the editor, it says that an item failed to load and asks if I want to delete it or not, so I have to copy/paste its code everytime it gets deleted !!!

    • Ill1 says:

I just ran across this issue, as well. Happy to confirm the Haymaker is the culprit. Hopefully, the fix will be in the next release.

  17. ugh says:

  20. CrazyGamer151 says:

How do you put yourself into True Vault Hunter Mode with this? Also is there a way to give yourself weapon SDUs?

    • zappiersauce says:

Have to complete all missions (not quests) to open TVHM. SDU is BLOZ(CgAAAABI/wADGAqIgzAAwA==), drop one in your bank and see what happens

      • TatankaG says:

Its possible with Gibbed on PS3. I dont know for any other system because I only play on my PS3. You can play on TVHM and even on UVHM (that would be your third playtrough) Just open the Raw tab in Gibbed and go to ‘PlayerHasPlayedInPlaythroughThree’ and change 0 in 1. Then go to ‘PlaythroughsCompleted’ and change it to 2. Last change you need to make is at ‘ShowNewPlaythroughNotification’ Just click it to mark the checkbox. If you load your character a pop-up window will show you the option to choose normal, TVHM and the third option will be UVHM although it says something else. Hope this helps.

Never had any problems with this great program but dont forget to make a backup to be safe.

  21. RyanE says:

Well this work With the Halloween gun

    • zappiersauce says:

Well…. Seems “Halloween gun” has been available for a while ~ BLOZ(igAAAABPRAADLIE9DCMDNMEagCUB5v+/Aqz//yaw/v9PgJmENQLm)

  22. chris says:

the program opens up for me just fine but every time i try to do anything with it i keep getting an error โ€œgibbed.borderlandsoz.saveedit.exe โ€“ bad imageโ€ it says that my C:\windows\system32\networkexplorer.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error does anyone know what i have done wrong or what the issue is??

  23. charles says:

Do you have one for mac

  24. Stuckman says:

I’m on windows 10 (not an issue i know this).
So I edit my save game (after backing it up of course) and then save it. Open my game, and then it tells me my save is corrupted and loaded the backup.
Anyone have a fix for this? If so please let me know.

worked for me.. 8.1 64bit, original steam game. i didnt do anything except for cloning my main character onto another one, so some stuff was missing – but who cares. thanks.

  35. Redrum says:

First I want to say thanks for providing the editor. In Bl2 it’s been very handy way of collecting various loot, and continues to be just as useful now. For me Gibb provides a way to overload a char with all of the items I find and want to keep. Its the ultimate storage method, having all of the items filed in one place and completely accessible.

My one request would be for the listing to be alphabetic, and searchable by simply typing the name of an item and have GIB jump to the item with a few key strokes.

But other than that, its been great.

I thank you for that. :O)

  36. Bennie says:

I’ve been trying to work out moonstones into my inventory so I can drop them in-game, but can’t seem to work that out. I know I was successful at doing so in Borderlands 2 with Eridium Stacks, has anyone worked out Moonstone Clusters?

    • Bennie says:

Some more info… I mod them in but don’t know what values to put for Alpha and Beta. Everything I’ve tried doesn’t work because when I load up the save and check the inventory, nothing is there, like it was erased.

  37. dan says:

not working its apart of my firewall and smartscreen is turned off but when I click on it it starts for 10sec and shut downs instantly and said it has stoped work please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
