How do i fix this
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE GIBBED ASSEMBLIES AND EVERYTHING THAT CAME WITH THE DOWNLOAD IN SAME FOLDER.
I have Borderlands 2 Save Editor (Revision 146) I cant open saves in it, even if i make a game save in the program it wont open it. I tried rehasher and that didnt help.
What the face? Be more specific and I will answer.
I use horizon to open the borderlands 2 game save and extract. When I load the save to (gibbed 146) it says failed to load save invalid or unsupported version.
You have to change it to say that it is either the Xbox, PC, or PS3 version. Picture reference below.

It doesn’t let me select a different .sav like in that image. Just have the one choice (I’m trying to go from pc to xbox if it matters)

When you click to open the file mane ate the bottom to the right of typing box for file name there’s a drop down menu that says PC change it to X360 or PS3 depending

I checked through the comments and didn’t see anyone having the same problem I seem to be having. I modded the values for a few weapons in the bank and saved. When logging on to check about the items in the bank, the values had not been changed. Am I missing something? Do I have to edit any values other than the ones in the bank tab of the editor?
Once you make a gun, you cannot edit it again. You have to make a duplicate.

What about for money and eridium bars? I went in and changed the value in both the RAW tab and the main tab but it didn’t take effect. Also, what do you mean I have to make a duplicate? For new guns/items I should click the new gun button and build it from there? I thought I had tried that but I’ll definitely give it another go.

Hello i have a problem. Xbox. I can load my save in your program bl2 save editor and chance a lot of stuf. When i load my file on to my xbox. The moded level 95 appears but i am no stronger than before and i cant juse the weapons above level 50. Only money and cristels, tokens and making weapons work the rest wont. Please reply many thanks
This is because you picked a level higher than 50… although it shows you higher, the game itself will still treat you like a capped 50, therefore you can’t use weapons/items above 50.
Oke but this program is made so you can be higher then level 50 right ? Whats is the use of seeing a higher level than you actualy are?
I don’t cap inputs except where it makes sense, due to abuse of the save editor/trainers/etc, Gearbox put a cap on level.

It is not something for me to fix. The save editor cannot bypass restrictions placed by Gearbox on save data.
Ok, Please help me i really want to use this program and ive heard good things about it. Ive downloaded absolutely everything that people have told me to. I cant even open the savestate program. When i open it it just says that the program has stopped working, please help. Ive been trying different things for last 2 hours and nothing has worked. I running on windows 7
Can anyone help? I have a ps3, I load my game save to bruteforce and hit decrypt. then use Gibbed’s BL2 save editor but every time it says “Failed to load save: LZO decompression failure. Can someone tell me how to fix plz?
The compression error is because you didn’t follow the directions and select PS3 for type when you tried to load the save file. When you click open in the save editor and find your file, single click it and just above the Open button there’s a box that defaults to PC Save, change that to PS3 Save before clicking open and you’ll be fine.
Hey, thanks for this. I am on pc and useing ver.146. I have respeced one of my characters and now I can not add skill points. Opens fine, adds points fine in editer, saves fine =, but when open in game saya “0” skill points????
If you’re on PC then just use Cheat Engine.

Just go to the RAW data and manually change all of your skills in the skill data label to “5”. Once you save ita no upload the modded save game to your system, the skills you changed will reflect! You cannot go past “5” but, can max them up to that level. I have not figured out how to boost the token values for the challenges though…
Has any tried using this while running Windows 8? It worked fine while I was on 7, but now it won’t even open regardless if it’s ran as an administrator. I’ve also tried several compatibility modes and the results were the same. All I get is my mouse changing into the loading circle for a few seconds then nothing. Couldn’t find any instances of it in the task manager either.
I’m running Windows 8 now and it works fine here. Ensure that you have the .NET 4 runtime installed.
Is there any way to copy whole MissionPlaythrough block to another character? Doing it one-by-one is a nightmare.
I have no issues with this revision works great for me OTHER THEN… seraph items wont generate (in editor a red outline goes around the item selection an nothing works) an the mechromancer class mods do not work either ( same thing as seraph items with red outlined bar)
One thing I noticed about items from DLC is that the Set number is different. Seraph items are 2, some items are 1, and some are 3. The number isn’t changable (at least in Rev146, so your best bet is to find a weapon from the DLC, copy and edit, or use a paste code for one.
Yea, the editer was working perfectly untill this update, now I have the issue of skill points not working. Still not sure if the fact that I respeced one of my characters has anything to do with it. Now none will take skill points…………..
I to am noticing that the skill points will not work on any character no matter how I do it..everything else is working, equipment, monetary items, etc..but not skill points..
@ titbit just open one of your alread play through’d character an then make them a different class… least thats what I did with my main played file who was a gunzerker in true vault hunter mode.. then I created him into a 50, mechromancer, then a soldier. Lots less issues with quests line an so on then just make a scrap lvl 50 char from nothing.

Juste à question : why can’t we used the Seraphin item ?
When use wieh “copy/paste” and edit after that it’s ok but if selected manualy its forbidden (red).
By the way the Seraph SetID = 4 instead of 0 for all other items. Don’t know what’s that.
This is one of the best save editors i have seen and used of late and would like to thank Rick for making said editor. Great work. Keep it coming.
but as i have been using it for so long i have thought about a few things i think it could use to help with ease of acces and usage. If you could take a look at some of these things it would be awesome…
1)When in the backpack and bank tabs, selecting an item or weapon to edit and being able to simply press the delete button on the keyboard to remove the item if you no longer wish to keep it.
2) When in the bank and backpack tabs, for heavy modders like myself who just cant bear to throw away good items even though we dont use or need them, it would be nice to be able to organize the lists alphabetically or by date of pick up or lvl or even by makers or weapon type like in game.
3)In the same tabs a search button would be AWESOME! so as to find a weapon if you know the name of it.
and finally 4) Im not sure this is doable but it would be nice to adjust, the claptrap vault items could edited so that you can put modified items in it directly…

I am unable to make the Legendary class mod for the mechromancer class it keeps coming up red and none of the other tabs have any type of options list please help
YOU MUST HAVE AN ITEM FOR THE MECHRO, PREFERABLY ANOTHER CLASS MOD. DUP IT AND THEN CHANGE THE DUP TO THE ITEM YOU WANT/NEED FOR MECHRO. THE ITEM TYPE (GD_IRIS) TYPES ARE JUST LIKE THE WEAPONS IN THE NEW DLC. THE GEAR CALC DOES NOT ALLOW CREATION OF NEW WEAPONS, BUT YOU CAN DUP ANY ITEM AND TURN THE TYPE AS LONG AS ITS PREFIX MATCHES i.e. (GD_ORCHID_RAID_BOSS) WEAPONS CAN MAKE ANY OTHER WEAPON WITH THE SAME ARCHITYPE…ALL MECHRO ITEMS (SKINS,HEADS ETC.) HAVE THE IRIS PREFIX. THIS TRICK CAN BE USED MANY DIFFERENT WAYS… HAPPY MODDING!

As with Gearbox capping levels, they also sanity check spendable skill points in save data.
yeah but what I am seeing is I cannot add skill points to any character at all, even ones that currently have none. Was working till this update. I also respeced one of my characters and after that skill point mods do not show up in game at all
go to raw data tab and scroll to tthe bottom. click (collection) next to skill points and turn all the grade lvls to 5 man

also you can simply turn down your lvl to 4 and leave your exp for lvl 50!

a word of caution though… if you turn the lvl down and save and insert your points and repeat, YOU MUST BE SURE NOT TO EXCEED THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SKILL POINTS POSSIBLE FOR YOUR CHARACTER. FOR EXAMPLE THE SIREN TOPS OUT WITH 126 SKILL POINTS… I AM NOT SURE OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS….BUT WHAT THAT MEANS IS YOUR LVL REDUCTION CAN ONLY OCCUR 3 TIMES AND CANT EXCEED 126 LVLS… IF YOU END UP FILLING IN ALL THE SKILL TREES WITH THIS METHOD AND HAVE SKILL POINTS LEFT OVER, THE SANITY CHECK ON THE GAME WILL TAKE ALL OF YOUR SKILL POINTS…YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Hi there, I have used this program many times before with ease and no errors. But all of a sudden, I am not sure if this is from the new patch from GearBox or something. I can not open my saves. I have copied my saves onto a USB from my Xbox. Then I will open the save file in Modio or an equivalent program. Extract the “SaveGame.sav” to my computer and proceed forward to open it with Gibbed. I put on on 360 mode in the drop down menu and attempted to open my save. I get this message, “Failed to load save, invalid or unsupported version”. I have had no problem before, but now all of a sudden I get this? I’m confused. I have also tried previous versions of the Gib editor but with no luck. Please give me suggestions, but don’t tell me I need to extract the save from my main save file seeing that I have already done this!

Clear your system cache,
load up Borderlands without the update,
start the game with your save,
save and quit,
then use that save and that should work.
MODIO DOES NOT REGISTER THIS SAVE DATA AND UNPACK IT PROPERLY. DOWNLOAD AND USE HORIZION. IT IS THE ONLY PROGRAM OTHER THAN PYTHON THAT WORKS PROPERLY!!!

Question, what are the value to have the costume pack head in inventory?
There are no inventory items for those heads.
I found out that the Gardenia Heads are buried in the Raw tab and in AppliedCustomizations. Equip both Head and Skin (preferably) and move your save to the editor. I don’t know if should post the data values here.
The space for Head and Skin in the General Tab is empty if you have them, btw.
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I’m just starting to play with Gibbed. Is there anyway to save the all the new heads and skins so that they will show in the list at the New U Station? If I set to a particular set in Gibbed then load into the game then change it, will the new skins/heads remain available as an option?
If you meant practically unlocking the skins and heads by equipping them in the Gibbed Editor, I haven’t tested it out of pure fear it might take a crap on my game. The reason is because the customizations are saved to the profile and having equipped a head you don’t own yet might have some consequences.
Should you want to unlock them using Gibbed, might as well do this:
-Go the Backpack (preferably) or Bank tab.
-Choose New Item.
-Click the drop down arrow for Type and search for GD_(class)_Items_MainGame.(class).(Head or Skin)_(name)(number)
Say I want to have the Borderlands 1 head for Zer0, you choose: GD_Assassin_Items_MainGame.Assassin.Head_ZeroBL1
-After choosing your head or skin, click on the Balance arrow and choose the only option there. Apply the same for Manufacturer.
-The game will automatically name your item. So don’t bother with Prefix or Title. Same goes with weapons.
If you want a skin, then take note of it’s color then search for it’s closest in the skin selection
-I am guessing the Dark Knight skin of being fully black might be: GD_Assassin_Items_MainGame.Assassin.Skin_BlackA
-Choose the only Manufacturer and Balance

-You will find a class named Mercenary, that is actually Salvador.
Thanks Commonman. I’m guessing though GBX did things differently with the new costume heads and skins that just came out today? They are added as a selection at the New U Station, but not a consumable item like all the heads and skins of the past.
I haven’t checked, but it’s a smart move though. Whether it may be Gearbox or Gibbed preventing the access of the Gardenia items, I feel it’s better that way.
You’re using r146? Because the r146 knows about Gardenia01 heads/skins and it shouldn’t be blank.

YEA YOUR CHARACTER CAN WEAR THEM IF YOU EDIT THEM FROM THE GENERAL TAB BUT IF YOU DO NOT OWN THE DLC YOU CANT ACCESS THEM FROM THE NEW-U STATION.

Hey I am having trouble inputting codes. I select new weapon, and try to paste the code, and I get an Error Message that reads ” did not find any codes in clipboard.” I’ve seen this problem above and the lb2 is included…. I am seriously in need of assistance.

Because you aren’t actually copying anything to the clip board….Your browser has to pop up a message asking for permission to copy the data onto your clipboard….some of the grids/codes are protected via other methods…..look up at the upper left of the various code lists and see if there is a menu that allows you to copy.
Try that—-or a different browser.

I keep getting a cannot load CON files, extract using Modio or better error even though it is the Con file. If it isn’t a CON file error it is a REENCODE error or it doesn’t support my 360 file. It used to work when last summer and I was able to mod my guys but now I can’t even open a file.
You don’t have to use your Xbox save. It’s the GameSave.dat found IN the Xbox save. If you have Horizon, drag your save into the program, choose the second tab (I think it’s contents) and then you will find the GameSave.dat file.
Right click it, then choose extract and put it in the folder of your choosing. Afterwards, load the GameSave.dat into the editor and make sure to specify that it is a 360 file. Otherwise you will get an error saying “Invalid or unsupported version”
I’ve done that and I still get the same CON error. I’ve watched the youtube videos over and over and I still get it. I had a super old version of gibbed and it worked fine but my computer crashed and I got the new one and it doesn’t work. I see others are having the same issue. =[

OK–ive been trying to scale up all quest to “2.5” including storymode
things dont seem to stick–[by that i mean gamestage]
–as i realise it’s the quests that need to be scaled – not the area
–i question if by setting region by region i need to start a new playthrough deleteing all [non50 quest]
–ive attempted adding in “GD_Episode17.M_Ep17_KillJack” into the mission data attempting forced scaling like
borderlands 1 – and the find steele quest – seeing as its the first gamestage50 quest [killjack that is]
–tried pluging gamestage 50 into last completed story quest which – changes the level in log but nothing else
ultimately the only thing ive gotten to successfully work thus far is–
>>each new quest
>>exit out
>>load the save in gibbed
>>edit the gamestage
>>save
>>reload char in game…
…finialy continue
–im hoping someone knows of a global ‘simple’ setting to plug ‘gamestage 50’ into

I have been using gibbed r133 wich was working fine except some things didnt work like edit skills or torge money. I got the new version now r146 it will not open any .sav file I have it says ” Failed to Load Save: cannot load xbox 360 Con files, extract save using Modio or eqvialent”. I created a new save using Gibbed r146 for 360, saved it, and tried to open it with modio 3.0 and 4.0 and i get this “Modio could not open that file, Invalid package”. This was working fine with the older version, but the older version of course doesnt have all the stuff the new one does. Where do I go from here?

Really great tool, except the one thing I initially wanted to do with it doesn’t work :/ Changing the level of the enemies, I tried changing the Regiongamestagedata gamestage level to something higher. It saves properly, except when I load the saved-game, it resets it to the old value ;/ Any ideas?

As with levels and skill points, Gearbox now sanity checks that data on loading save files.
Question! (please 🙂 is purchasing the new DLC’s heads and skins the only way to use them? I notice them in gibbed but whenever I select them >> save >> go in game they just reset back to the default head/skin. Anyway around this? (btw I’m talking about the 1$ packs released on Jan 22nd..) try this. turn the EXP UP TO EQUAL LVL 50 WHICH IS IS LIKE 3,421,860 SOMETHING BUT TURN YOUR LVL DOWN TO 4 SAVE AND RELOAD. FILL IN SKILLS YOU WANT SAVE AND REPEAT. DO NOT HOWEVER EXCEED THE MAX NUMBER OF SKILL POINTS POSSIBLE FOR YOUR CHARATER. i.e. THE SIREN HAS A MAX OF 126 SO GOING OVER 126 LVL INCREASES WILL LEAVE YOU WITH EXTRA SKILL POINTS WHICH WILL CAUSE SANITY CHECK AND THE GAME WILL TAKE ALL OF YOUR SKILL POINTS AND GIVE YOU 46 AGAIN… HAPPY MODDING!

Yes you can. You just need Windows parallel and windows XP or later installed. Then you can run everything (horizon and Gibbed)

Rick—-love the editor!! Do you have (or know of any) sort of guide that describes features/effects. For instance….description of shotgun effects…..Tech 2, Tech 3, Tech 4, etc. I can figure most stuff out….but if someone has already put together something….would probaly save me a lot of trail and error. thanks again for your work on this….has made my playing expereience soooo much more fun!

One thing though – I tried to change the MaxBankSlots, save as new character, load that character – but the number of slots stays at 16 (tried to up it to 32/42/50/100).
I installed update 1.3.1, but this release (rev 146) of the editor suppose to handle this update.

bank slots can no longer be edited from save editor. look up new bank glitch on youtube. its simple. you go to store tab in the vault and select an item you wish to KEEP IN YOUR BACKPACK! When the cursor moves over to your vault simply press right on your dpad or analog stick and scroll up or down and select an item you wish to put away! repeat as much as needed! happy modding!
