Odd complaint, a relatively minor one but frustrating none the less. Seeing as the game is sold as a “Shooter RPG” I like to do roleplay runs sometimes, where I juice up a character to be as badass as they appear in the opening, and often do ‘brand loyalty’ runs with appropriate weapons. Axton using nothing but Dahl stuff, for instance, except where the manufacturer doesn’t make that kind of weapon.

I’m doing a ‘nothing but e-tech’ run with Zer0 (the alien uses alien guns, gofig) and I’m trying to give him a Maliwan rocket launcher. Because assassins use rocket launchers. … It won’t work. I can modify an existing rocket launcher into a Maliwan alien, or I can try to create a new item, backpack or bank. Any time I make a launcher that uses the Alien balance, it doesn’t appear in game, as if it’s an invalid weapon. All Maliwan parts, I’ve tried multiple elements and multiple accessories (or no accessories) or other manufacturer parts, nothing works. It only seems to happen with the Maliwan PBFG.

    What gives? Any ideas?

    • Vinny Havoc says:

Addendum. I can’t make -any- alien tech launchers; just tried with Vladof. Haven’t tested with other uniques or legendaries, but I CAN make the Norfleet. Weird.

Hi, Thanks for making this amazing software for us. I just wondering about the import stats function. Maybe I didnt get it right, but I could never manage to transfer the challenge data between saves with this function. Could you provide any hints for us about it?

  9. TheOrangeBottleCap says:

I cant even use the program so I cant write a review on performance, but I am writing about the fact that after I download it and try to open it, all it does is open up the what would you like to open this with menu. I’m on windows 10 any ideas? if you need more of a clue on what I mean I can make a clip of what it is if I can get info on where to put it thanks ill try this program another time to see if I can get some help.

    • MrZoolook says:

I reckon you have the option to hide file extensions tuned off, and are clicking the file “Gibbed.Borderlands2.SaveEdit.exe”. With file extensions off, this is the config file. One reason I always tell people to turn off the dumb option to hide extensions.

If I’m right, you need to use the file called “Gibbed.Borderlands2.SaveEdit” (without .exe at the end), and while your in explorer, click on the ‘Tools’ menu and then ‘Folder options’, click the ‘View’ tab, then untick the option to ‘Hide extensions for known file types’. Then click ‘Apply to folders’ and you’ll always see the whole filename. You should now see that the file you clicked on is indeed a .config file, and the actual executable is displayed in full.

      You’re welcome!

Been using the editor on and off for a few years now but only recently got interested in the RAW fields. Based on tutorials I should be able to adjust the mission levels to change the rewards to a better level? Every time i save and go in game nothing seems to change, but when I fire up the editor again it shows that I adjusted it. Any advice on this?

  26. RayRay says:

Uhm, I’m on Windows 10, Gibbed will not open for me at all. I installed it 8 times, ran it as administrator, and still nothing. I open task manager to see if it pops up when I open it, but nothing comes up.

  30. WutFace says:

Gibbed stopped working for me. When trying to gib in items, nothing seems to happen (saving in the same location). I’ve also noticed that gibbed isn’t picking up my latest save files (tested by picking up items that aren’t showing up in gibbed). I would appreciate any solution/incite as to why this is occurring.

    • WutFace says:

Forgot to add, this happened after i purchased the “borderlands 2 ‘game of the year addition'” on steam for blackfriday.

  31. Guy Noir says:

I am stopped with a problem. I am trying to move Axton, Maya, and Salvador from XBOX 360 to PS4 (Using the Handsome Collection on PS4) through my PS3. There was a Title Update to BL2 on XBOX 360 recently, so I believe something has changed to the save files since your last update to Gibbed (256). Every save that I try to read (saved from either Horizon or Modio 5) cannot be read. The error message is “Failed to load save; invalid or unsupported version”. I can send you my character files if you want. Thanks for any help you may be.

    • Guy Noir says:

I am an idiot. AZZprin showed me the error of my ways. You have to set the type of file you are trying to load in the General tab before you start to load. Once you do that, the X-Box save file can be loaded and then re-saved as a PS3. Program works perfectly!!! Thanks AZZprin and Rick.

  32. Praxus says:

Is the source code available? if so where can it be downloaded

Thanks for any info you can give.

  33. Iigito says:

Please can be use in ps vita save file?

  34. Disgruntled says:

Failed to load save: Invalid or Unsupported version. Not working. At all. Xbox 360.

    • Azzprin says:

Have you checked that it saved it as a xbox 360

Under the “General” tab check the “Platform” is selected as 360 incase it changed it to PC by default.

      • Minister Oak says:

I am also getting this error. I tried to select the platform but it is grayed out in the screen unless I create a new one first. Once I make a new character I can change the platform to 360 and then when I try to load the save I get this error. I am using Horizon to extract the save. I have used this program in the past and had no issues. I feel like am overlooking something but I have done everything I can think of.

  35. TuxedoCowXx says:

I have used gibbed before and it worked for me perfectly fine. Now for some reason everytime I load up my save no new weapons have been added even though i have pasted in the code, encrypted, updated pfd and verified it. I can also not change my level. Please fix this.

  36. Mythrandiir says:

Hello. I’ve just recently started using the gibbed editor and am having some issues. When i play the game and do some missions, when i exit it just resets my progress back to what i had started with with gibbed. Example i finished the train to catch mission and started the next one where you pull the power core from sanctuary and get attacked. When i get my save set up and go to the power core and pull it everything goes as normal and i can advance and keep going. However if i decide to save and quit and come back it will be like i never accepted the mission and Lt Davis has the ! for it and i cant accept. It does this with any mission i make as active in gibbed. I tried going back and re rescuing roland and then going back to sanctuary, accepting the train to catch mission to go see mordecai and then restarting the game. My active set of objectives before i left was, Go to the tundra, find mordecai and so on. When i log back in i have no active mission, cannot accept A Train to Catch BUT the rescue roland mission is complete. Please help, i just want to be able to go through my playthrough without constantly being reset. Any help or ideas are appreciated!

    • Zappier says:

If on XBOX try to join game with previous missions you already completed and continue to play past the mission that your save is currently on. When you reopen your game play solo and see if that corrected your issues

    • Azzprin says:

Is the saved file “write protected” ?

If it is write protected it can not save the game.

Make sure your “profile.bin” and character “SaveXXXX.sav” files are not write protected.

  37. Sedgmo says:

None of my hybrid gun show up, even in the bank. None of the gun I make with the yellow exclamation point make it into the game, but they stay on the save. Am I the only one having this problem, or has one of Gearbox’s updates prevented these gun from being in the game?

  38. Austin Higgins says:

This application wont open please respond!!!!!!

    • Azzprin says:

When i double click “Gibbed.Borderlands2.SaveEdit.exe” i get the “Open file – security warning” and i select “Run”.

I have my security set to “Always ask”.

Maybe your security is automaticaly blocking it from running.

Try right clicking and selecting “run as Administrator” and a box should pop up asking if you want to run it.

If the above fail, check your anti-virus / Firewall settings. I have had a few problems in the past with my AV/FW blocking a game.

  39. Gabreu says:

The best edit tool i’ve ever seen, very well developed, and always up to date, congratulations, keep up the awesome work

  40. rallyman says:

I only have an old laptop with Windows XP Pro. Will I be able to run bruteforce and gibbed? I tried, and got a “Not a valid application” error message when i downloaded the 256 revision. The older version of gibbed would load my save, but give me the “reencode mismatch error”

    What can i do?

  41. chris says:

I can’t find brute force download so I can save on the computer can you help me please

  42. Drew says:

I cant get it to open on windows 10

  43. Zack says:

When I try to open my save, it dosent open and a error shows up.

    • Russ says:

I used horizon previously to convert game saves for gibbed. Now it tells me to use modio or equivalent software because horizon is an unsupported file type. What can I do to extract saves? Modio doesn’t work on my computer.

  44. Edgar says:

Can somebody please explain to me how to actually install this? I’m absolutely clueless and am stuck on a zip file. Thanks in advance!

  45. AlphaWolf says:

is there any fix? this happens when i try to load up any save file, including saves created in-game or in this editor

    • Rick says:

Usually indicates corrupt save file. If you like, you can upload your save to some sharing site to link it in a comment and I can take a look at it, but like I said, it’s most likely corrupt.

  46. Ray says:

    Will This Work For Ps4?

  47. Dakota Cain says:

Hi, i was wondering you could make a version of this for the linux version of the game

  48. Russ says:

what software can I use to convert game saves? Horizon no longer works with gibbed and modio is no longer available.

  49. yungun says:

Hi, Been using this for bl2 a little bit, and after watching vids on how to best use this program, I thought I had a hand on it. But recently I tried modding a character, and it keeps giving me the SHA1 hash Error despite the fact that I have been using bruteforce to decrypt and encrypt when I finish. any pointers/ help.

Could this line that appears on bruteforce once the decrypt have something to do with it? It shows up after i decrypt in the bottom right window.
Warning: A disc hash key was not found. A fallback disc hash key will be used.

  50. Th3Stranger says:

Does the save editor allow you to make extreme overpowering – god mode – type weapons or characters any more? It’s not the only way I play the game, I’ve finished BL2 twice, but it’s still fun to just walk through and take out anything around you.
