Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! Save Editor (Revision 7)

Get the new version.

  • Initial release (hotfix).
  • As this is the first release, damage to your save files could occur. Don’t use it if you don’t want to take that risk.
  • Fast Travel tab is (obviously) missing, due to changes in how that’s handled. It may return in the future.
  • I have no idea if console (PS3, 360) formats/compression was changed at all, so that may be broken.
  • Fixed some reencode issues, if you encounter more, please comment this post.
  • If you are getting a reencode issue with revision 7, try loading the save in-game, and going to Options, Gameplay and turning Vehicle Steering to traditional.
Hopefully that resolves the issue. This problem will be fixed in the next release.

Download.

If you encounter any problems (crashes, etc), feel free to comment this post.

  1. Tactical says:

when i open my save it says failed to load invaild SHA1 HASH

  2. Neonize says:

It seems that adding General Skill Points does not work, they reset to 0. I have not tested increasing the level as well.

    • AngryGlock says:

That does not work on the BL2 editor either. Getting more skill points was easy in BL2 editor. Just leave your XP alone and set your level lower. The XP will cause you to level up when you log in and that produces skill points.

      • Lycos says:

You can add skill points with BL2, you just need to delete the update, as that is what resets them. Not sure how to work it for TPS, I even tried deleting the update for it but nothing seems to be working.

  3. Tony Jackson says:

I just want to thank you for quick response for this program. It is a considerable help to me due to poor vision. I have used the other program on bl2 and like it very much. It helps me get over my disadvantage. Keep up the good work.

  4. GL8 says:

I’m on ps3 and when i load up bruteforce it say mys files are undecryptable any help would be apreciated.

    • skullbuster says:

I had to load mine straight from the flash drive once i pointed bruteforce to the flash drive it let me decrypt it.

  5. athena says:

When I try to save and rehash I get an object already exists error message every time.

  6. Wilhelm says:

Saved XBox360 files to flash drive. Loaded onto PC with Horizon. Cannot open the extracted save file even when I select that it is Xbox360. I get a “Failed to load. Invalid SHA1 hash” pop up. The game and this tool is still very new so understandable. Your work on this save editor is the best. stay awesome!

  7. huur says:

    it works here !

  8. Zylozx (PS3) says:

Thank you so much for this ad so quickly i might add.

  9. Tsok says:

    ty very much

  10. Chris (PS3) says:

For over an hour now, I’ve been struggling with the invalid hash window. Please, someone help me.

    • Tactical says:

      i need help as well

    • Kain says:

Make sure the save is decrypted – you can use Bruteforce to do that, just do a right-click and select Decrypt All Files – and then try to open it (make sure you choose the PS3 Save file type when opening the save from the editor). After you’re done, go back to Bruteforce and encrypt the file.

      • Chris (PS3) says:

The save HAS been decrypted. I attempted to use this the same way I used it for Borderlands 2, to no avail. I never had a problem using this program for the previous game, just this one.

        • Kain says:

Unfortunately, that’s the extent of my knowledge – the method in question’s working for me… Maybe Rick or someone else will be able to help you.

    • Chris (PS3) says:

To recap – I’ve decrypted the save, as well as selected PS3 option when opening. I have all the files needed for BruteForce, and searched the internet for a fix. I keep getting the same invalid hash error, and I don’t know why.

It’ll probably be something stupid and I’ll end up feeling dumb.

  11. Satvir says:

    BLOZ(CgAAAABI/wADGAqIgzAAwA==)

Add to the bank and duplicate. This will allow you to unlock the weapon equip slot.

  12. Asdf says:

Thank you for all the hard work and another awesome editor.

  13. AquaVixen says:

Could you please do something to your save editors (Both this and the one for Borderlands 2) so that it remembers the re-sized window size between opening and closing please. I keep having to re-size it to see all the fields every time I open it. It’s a small little thing.. so probably couldn’t be too much to implement I would think.

  14. xbox says:

The xbox version is broken between horizon and gibbed. It gives a object already exists error.

  15. GrimReaper4383 says:

failed to load save: lzo decompression failure (lookbehindoverrun)

  16. MuchoRoacho says:

Thank you for your hard work in putting these together.

  17. chris says:

    thx works great on ps3

  18. Rigamortos says:

Having a issue importing save files from Horizon. It says “failed to load save: cannot load XBOX 360 CON files, extract save using Modio or equivalent.” The file format is not in CON is a .sav file. What is going on here. I read someone up there saying that the hash was improper or try un-cracking the sav file first before importing. How do I do that?

  19. Kyle says:

Hey all, for anyone who is interested in unlimited ammo, here’s how you do it. (The procedure is very similar to that of BL2)
–NOTE: I only have an Xbox 360 so I’m not sure if this will work on PS3 or not.–

    1) Open your save game file, and navigate to the ‘Raw’ Tab. And click the drop down arrow for ‘BlackMarketUpgrades’.
    2) You will see a bunch of numbers there, this corresponds to the upgrades you may (or may not..) have gotten. A breakdown of what each number upgrades is found below: (The numbers correspond to what I upgraded before changing things)

4 – Upgrade for assault rifles
    4 – Upgrade for pistols
3 – Upgrade for rocket launchers
    3 – Upgrade for shotguns
    4 – Upgrade for SMGs
3 – Upgrade for sniper rifles
4 – Upgrade for number of grenades
5 – Upgrade for backpack space
0 – Upgrade for bank space
4 – Upgrade for laser weapons

    3) To get unlimited ammo, paste the following in the ‘BlackMarketUpgrades’ drop down box. (The zeros will correspond to the backpack and bank space, see above to note which numbers correspond to which upgrade.)

    999999999
    999999999
    999999999
    999999999
    999999999
    999999999
    2147483644
    0
    0
    999999999

    4) Under the ‘Raw’ tab, navigate and find ‘ResourceData’, and open that up.
    5) On the left side, you will have a bunch of ‘ResourceData’ entries, this corresponds to ammo pools for your character. Go down each of these ammo pools, and place the following number in the ‘Amount’ entry on the right side.

    2147483647

    6) Enjoy unlimited ammo! (Also, if someone could test this on the PS3, please comment and let us know if it works!)

    • GrimReaper4383 says:

yes it also works on the ps3. but, you will need to die once for it take affect.

      • GrimReaper4383 says:

only ammo that didnt work for me was the laser cells, grenades & rockets.

        • GrimReaper4383 says:

i tried it your way. and everything works. but, backpack is still the same as it was. it wont go higher than 12.

          • Kyle says:

I figured that something may be different for the Playstation. I’m not sure what would be different though. And the backpack space is because you didn’t change the topmost zero.

          • Kyle says:

Also… If changing that zero doesn’t work, you may have to purchase the actual backpack upgrade in the game. Since you can edit the amount of Moonstones you have, that’s not a huge deal.

    • David says:

Unfortunately this does not seem to work on the PC version. I get basically zero ammo and after opening my save profile again i get negative values under the resourcedata for each ammo pool.

I did this with no issues with BL2 so I hope I am not being dumb now…

      • Kyle says:

I know that this will not work for the PC version. I know for Borderlands 2 the resource codes were different from PC versus console. (I tried using the resource code trick specific to the PC, but I could never get it to work.) Though what I ended up using was Cheat Engine (app you can find on Google) along with a compilation of memory codes (also Google search) that a community put together to achieve unlimited ammo. I’m not sure if they have one of those out for the PS yet though…

      • Chewy says:

I can confirm that this does not work on the PC version, I have tried reverting, but it seems that it is a coding error in itself.

        • Proofetzy says:

I can confirm that it works perfectly. And im running windows 8 wich ussually reject this kinds of program.

  20. GrimReaper4383 says:

i figured out what i did wrong. i didnt have the ps3 selected at both parts. now i gave myself inf ammo on both ps3 & 360.

  21. HE4DSHOTJenkins says:

Anybody figured out how to solve….”MISSING SECURE_FILE_ID. TRY BRUTEFORCING THE KEY FOR THE FILES” error on Bruteforce yet??? If so, a lil help please…..

  22. niebaum says:

Works perfectly fine for me here, no issues whatsoever !

  23. iiTzBlankHD says:

if That Dont Work Download The New BruteFoce an When You Click Decrypt On The New One Click Decrypt Full File Or Somthing Like That

  33. C. Carrigg says:

I am also unable to open due to the SHA1 hash error. I have the latest Bruteforce version and the latest Gibbed version. The process worked perfectly for BL2 but am unable to do so for the Pre Sequel. Any suggestions?

  34. xCAYKEx says:

Hey, found this potentially glitched com in game, pulled it into gib and it showed up to this: http://gyazo.com/2647ddcfa23d366e47f4d4a723e8ab02

Dunno if this is a glitch on your end or in the game but i wanted to bring it to your attention.

Does anyone know how prefix and tittle work for unique weapons?

  36. Brandon says:

has anyone else had this problem?

“Can not load XBOX 360 CON Files extract using Modio or Equivalent”

I have used both horizon and modio. Do i need to decrypt using bruteforce like everyone is saying?

  37. Ryan says:

When I go to open my Xbox 360 Save I get the following Error message. “Failed to load save: cannot load XBOX 360 CON files, extract save using Modio or equivalent.” I extracted the file using Horizon. Which is what I always used for BL2

  38. William says:

Can anyone give me a link to Bruteforce website, please?

    Thank you,

  39. Ehron says:

Trying to open my Xbox 360 save, and getting the error message “Failed to load save: invalid or unsupported version.” Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    • Ehron says:

Update. I was missing the fact that you have to select the save type when you open the save. My dumb mistake.

  40. iSuckPro says:

Does anyone know how to mod a profile on Ps3? I’va already decrypted the save file with Bruteforce, went into the Borderlands TPS Profile editor and selected the save as a Ps3 file, but it still says Invalid SHA1 HASH.. Any advice?

  41. Delo says:

Does anyone know what the different Makes of weapon components do to the stats of weapons? Like the difference that a Torgue grip has on stats compared to a Hyperion grip? Also, whenever I make shields it seems that different combinations of Makes in all three components has widely varying effects. For example, I made one with the body, battery, and capacitor all Hyperion components, then experimented by swapping out one component at a time with Anshin. The results made it seem as though the best possible combination could only be determined by trial and error (just making a ton of combinations and seeing which one was the best in-game). I’m hoping someone here could shine some light on the finer points of weapon/shield creating to get the best stats possible. And thanks Rick for all your amazing work on BL2 and BLPS save editors!

    • HE4DSHOTJenkins says:

In the past…. only the brand made a differerence in my exp. ie. bandit assault rifles have larger mags or Jakobs snipers have stronger base damage etc

    • sik says:

      http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=214863853

Comprehensive infographic of all parts for BL:2. Most bonuses are the same, though elements are different(obviously), and for the laser weps, the manufacturer of the weapon determines the type of laser. I forget which manufacturer does what, but each manufacturer makes one type of laser, so 1 manufacturer makes only shotgun type lasers, one only repeaters, etc.

    • Navi says:

The gun’s grip primarily affects the magazine size, and secondarily accuracy, damage, recoil, reload speed, fire rate, etc. As for shields, go to the borderlands wiki. The table of shield parts shows how each attribute is affected by each part. Even better, recently someone color-coded ‘increase’ and ‘decrease’; increase is highlighted green, and decrease is highlighted red. Make sure to scroll down to the Borderlands 2 section of shields.

  42. Vizion says:

Feels like I’ve done everything right, just like the previous save editor for Borderlands 2. Always comes out corrupted when I load the game, no worry though I have a backup of my original save file. I guess I’ll wait a while until the editor becomes more stable. Might as well have a go at the game’s story before I get to screwing around with my saves.

  43. GrimReaper4383 says:

How do I mod my ps3 profile save?

  44. William says:

Can anyone help me, I had downloaded the bruteforce, but when I try to fail to update the despitory and can not decrypted my ps3 game save. Anyone please help. thank

  45. Nick says:

    Hey Rick,

There currently is a bug right now with the Titan Robot Production Plant vault symbol and the Titan Industrial Facility vault symbol. If you get the Titan Robot Production Plant vault symbol first, then it bugs out and thinks you got the vault symbol in the Titan Industrial Facility. Afterwards, you can’t get actual vault symbol in the Titan Industrial Facility area.

I’ve tried to go through the raw data on my character and deleted the entry from my ChallengeList (ChallengeData: GD_Challenges.Co_LevelChallenges.DahlFactory_VaultRoy), but all that does is make it say “undiscovered” in game, and when I go back to Titan Industrial Facility, it instantly gives me the challenge back right when I enter. Is there any way for me to remove the trigger for these vault symbols so that I can rediscover then again? Or is there a way to edit my save so it says that I’ve found the symbol in Titan Robot Production Plant?

    Thanks!

    • Rigamortos says:

Leave the fact out that you are able to mod your characters stats and post this onto gearbox’s site. There have been several little bugs and unwanted glitches in the game that I have noticed so far. That is there problem to patch and update.

      • Nick says:

Yeah that was going to be my last resort if anything else.

Part of me feels like they’re just going to fix it, but they can’t repair a character that is already bugged. lol

  46. Dux says:

Thanks very much for this work! I am part of a father/son team that plays BL2 and now the new game. This software helps us have a great time together.

  47. Evan Jam says:

Hi Rick and other folks getting the error message: “Failed to load save: Reencode mismatch” when attempting to load 1 single save file.

I have two other save files which load fine, generated by clicking new game. This save file that’s giving me problems, however, was one that I manually created by selecting “New” from gibbed menu and creating it from scratch. I set it to athena, set level to 2, added a laser or two, and then jumped into an online match for some messing around. Saved on my computer fine, opened in the game fine and played fine. I save and quit that online match after a few missions and when attempting to re-open that save (which, again, was originally created and configured using the editor itself) is generating the error message.

Please see this imgur link for the error message in particular, and if you’d like the save file in question I’ll upload it to dropbox and share it to you.
    http://imgur.com/13SfIbH

It’s not a huge concern, however it seems to be giving that error message at completely unexpected moments and I can’t get rid of it. Tried playing character in game for a bit and re-saving and quitting back to menu. Restarting game. Re-installing gibbed editor. restarting rig. You know. I hope the information was helpful and I do look forward to any sort of official response I get on this. Thank you very much for the great product!

    • Rick says:

Please upload samples of the save files that are failing to load.

      • Evan Jam says:

I made another character file manually, actually two seperates ones, and tested multiple times. It seems completely random whether I’ll be able to touch a previously created file or not. Here are two files that are failing, both of which were created manually in the editor’s “New” tab.

        Thanks, man!

        • Evan Jam says:

I read the highlighted text on the main page and can confirm that your fix seems to resolve save-opening issues there. My steering was already set to traditional but i set it to fixed and then back to traditional and it seemed to kick things back into shape. Not sure why. Pretty interesting. Anyways thanks for the workaround and keep up the good work there pal.

  48. john says:

for some reason the editor wouldnt read my shield. It was nothing special, it was one of those shields that give you a bonus to your health. this particular one also gave elemental resistance… not a big deal, all and all. its only revision 7,. Other than that I love it, and as always I cant thank you enough.

  49. Johnny says:

anyone know the mission data name for the side mission “Red, Then Dead” I turned in the mission but want to redo it but cant find it in the mission data 🙁
